Ted Talbert III: Fulfilled dream of being a police officer

Veteran Detroit police officer Ted Talbert III died of colon cancer Monday at the Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit after an extended bout with the illness. The Belleville resident was 41. On the force for 13 years, his most recent assignment was in the 6th Precinct as a member of the auto theft unit.

Helen Borden Church, 75

Helen Borden Church, Henning, Minn., 75, died peacefully July 17, 2008, in Colorado from colon cancer. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 625 3rd St NW, Wadena, MN 56482 at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug 16. The family wishes any memorials to be sent here.
