Five years ago, Tom Bassano was diagnosed with stage-3 colon cancer. He spent two weeks in the hospital, recuperating from surgery. The day after he was released, he eased back into his fitness routine with a walk.

Jury awards patient in cancer case
A Tippecanoe County jury awarded a $301,670 verdict Friday to a West Lafayette woman whose colon cancer went undiagnosed for 17 months, apparently because of a doctor's error.
