Hamilton high-schooler’s funeral is set tomorrow

HAMILTON -- Several hundred of his fellow students and other mourners turned out last night to say goodbye to Chris Somma, a 16-year-old township resident who died Sunday following a long battle with colon cancer.

Common cancer gene sends death order to tiny killer

Scientists at Johns Hopkins have discovered one way the p53 gene does what it's known for -- stopping the colon cancer cells. Their report will be published in the June 8 issue of Molecular Cell.
