VALDOSTA — A local family is seeking help with funeral expenses. Sylvester Williams, 67, passed away Tuesday following a lengthy battle with colon cancer, says his wife, Bridgett Williams.

House OKs student medical leave bill
WASHINGTON — When Michelle Morse was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2003, her doctors advised her to take a leave of absence from school while undergoing surgery and chemotherapy.
