Donald Praisner, 76, who won public office last year to continue his late wife's work on the Montgomery County Council, died yesterday at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda after undergoing surgery for colon cancer.
Pfizer Inc, in its latest research setback, said on Friday it stopped a late stage study of an experimental drug to treat advanced pancreatic cancer after an independent monitoring board found no evidence that it prolongs survival.
Almost a year after his wife's passing, Montgomery County Councilmember Don Praisner, 76, died Friday, Jan. 30, at 1:45 p.m. following surgery on Monday, Jan. 26, for colon cancer.
Eric Olsen, a history teacher and the head cross-country and boys' lacrosse coach at Freedom High School in South Riding, died Sunday after a battle with colon cancer.
Montgomery County Councilmember Don Praisner underwent surgery Monday, after doctors diagnosed him with colon cancer last week. "He is still in the hospital waiting on results from a biopsy," Montgomery County Council Spokesman Neil Greenberger said Wednesday.
