American Cancer Society awards grant to U of R researcher

Also today the American Cancer Society presented a $840,000 research grant to a local doctor. Dr. Jun Sun of Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center will use the grant to investigate colon cancer. Dr. Sun is exploring the role bacteria plays when it comes to colon cancer.

The University of Rochester takes on colon cancer with the help of a new research grant of more than $840,000 from the American Cancer Society. Researchers plan to use the money to pinpoint bacteria that causes colon cancer.
